bakedbeansupperThis is the time of the year when what I would call “comfort foods” are more than welcomed. One of my favourite dishes are baked beans – and making them overnight is not only easy, but also very, very tasty!

Overnight Baked Beans

2 cups of dried navy beans

5 slices of bacon, cooked crisp and diced

1/4 cup of ketchup

1/2 cup of brown sugar, packed

2 tablespoon of molasses (not blackstrap)

Combine beans and water in a 3-1/2 quart slow cooker and stir well.

Cover and cook on Low for 8-10 hours or overnight until beans are soft.

Add remaining ingredients and stir well.

Cover and cook on high for about an hour.

It’s really this easy! I like to serve these beans with roast pork , ham or nice farmers sausages – yum!

Hope you enjoyed this recipe – let me know how it turned out for you, your comments, suggestions and experiences are always welcomed!
