weddinganniversaryI think this is something that everyone asks from time to time – what gift to get to others for wedding anniversary – what year is symbolic of what. This helps especially when you are at loss for a gift idea. And if you are anything like me, you like to gift original, useful and thoughtful stuff.

Here is a little help for you:

Tickets to special events or concerts are a great idea. Another idea would be airline tickets, train tickets or consider a certificate for a hot air balloon ride

If you intended recipients are outdoor fans, anything for hiking, camping, cottage, etc. is a great idea. If not, creating a “cake from rolled up cotton dish or tea towels with a gift certificate to home accessory store will be welcomed

Consider a beautiful leather keepsake box or photo album and start the couple on including bits of memorabilia

Fruit and Flowers

There are some very nice little citrus trees available in the market , as are hydrophonic kits for green thumbs – everyone would like to try growing herbs or flowers indoors

How about an outdoor swing, nice garden bench or even a weekend trip into the woods? If You want to get a bit more special, visit your local wood-making shop and have one made that would be personalized with their initials

Tin and Aluminum

If you are up to it, how about a bicycle for two? You may get together with friends or family member to finance this unusual gift!

There is never enough beautiful crystal in one’s household – consider nice set of crystal champagne flutes and a quality bottle of the bubly

You may not want to add to the couple’s dinnerware, so check out original chinese stuff – like a lesson for two in chinese calligraphy ot private tai chi lessons

I would recommend some nice silver leaf plants – for indoor or outdoor – rather than a piece of silver that will only add to household chores

A nice idea maybe ornamental mother-of-pearl game board, keepsake box filled with special memories….

Staying away from gems, but keeping in line with the theme, visit your local wine-making store and make a custom batch of red wine! Or – find a nice ruby coloured vase and fill it with 40 red roses

Here is an idea – find a gold bound photo album and fill it with memorabillia from family and friends (photos, cards, letters, etc.)

60 and more

Family really matters to these couples – so plan a diamond theme party. Start by placing sparkly tiaras on the happy couple – they deserve the treat!

I hope this is another piece of information that was helpful to you – please send in your comments, suggestions and experiences – your input is always welcomed!
