Biscuit Mushroom Bake

biscuit-mushroom-bakeThis recipe will be a real treat for all the mushroom lovers. Homemade biscuits, baked to golden brown rest on the top of loads of sliced mushrooms and very tasty gravy. You can use your homemade biscuits (recipe link is below) or if you are in a bit of a hurry, use ready-made biscuits you can get in your local supermarket (the ones that come in a tube, like Pillsbury brand)

Biscuit Mushroom Bake:

1 lb. of sliced fresh mushrooms

2 tablespoons of butter

3 tablespoons of flour

1 cup of chicken broth

1/2 cup of milk

1 tablespoon of lemon juice

1 teaspoon of onion powder

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon of salt

1/4 teaspoon of pepper

1/4 teaspoon of paprika

1 tube (12 oz.) of refrigerated biscuits

In a large skillet, saute mushrooms in butter. Stir in the flour until blended. Gradually add broth and milk. Bring to a boil and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened and bubbly. Remove form the heat. Stir in lemon juice, onion powder,garlic powder, salt, pepper and paprika.

Pour into greased 11 x 7 inch baking pan. Arrange biscuits over the top and bake, uncovered at 375F for 15 -20 minutes until biscuits are golden brown.Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
